Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has shared heartwarming news with Nigerians and well-wishers, announcing the birth of his new granddaughter, Fatima-Huda Sale.

In a joyful message posted on his verified X page on Thursday morning, Atiku revealed that the baby is his daughter Laila’s first child. The proud grandfather expressed deep excitement and gratitude for the safe delivery of both mother and child.

“In another important family event yesterday evening, I was excited to welcome the latest of my grandchildren, Fatima-Huda Sale. Baby Huda is my daughter Laila’s first child. I am extremely excited to welcome her to the family. The baby, the mother, and the father are fine too. May Allah grant her a long and blessed life,” he wrote.

Atiku, aged 78, has long been known for his large and close-knit family. Over the years, he has often spoken about the importance of family values and togetherness.

The former vice president has four wives and twenty-eight children. His marital journey began in 1971 when he married Titi Abubakar, his first wife. He later expanded his family by marrying Rukayyatu Abubakar, Fatima Abubakar, and Jennifer Atiku Abubakar, though reports suggest his marriage with Jennifer has since ended.
