AU Summit: Buhari promises continued justice and fairness in Nigeria

Nigerian President, General Mohammadu Buhari in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia at the ongoing Africa Union Summit said Nigeria will continue to push for justice and fairness in ensuring peace and progress in Africa and other parts of the world.

The president in a meeting with the Prime Minister of Palestine, Mohammad Shtayyeh, said the country will not relent in upholding democracy, development and good governance as this would ensure the rights of individuals and institutions in the country.

He also promised the prime minister that Nigeria will be “consistent” in pushing for peace and progress while upholding the tenets of justice.

“As a country, we are doing our best, and we will continue doing our best to ensure justice and fairness,” Buhari said.

The Prime Minister in his remark noted that the situation of things in the Middle East, particularly its relationship with Israel, had worsened, stating that “people need to know the fact”

Shtayyeh thanked President Buhari for his wisdom and leadership role in the continent and urged the president to continue being healthy as his wisdom Is needed in these times.

“Your Excellency, we thank you for your wisdom. We need it more now”

“Please continue to stay well and healthy, because we need your wisdom,” he added.
