Kachallah Mai Daji, a notorious terrorist leader, has been arrested by the Niger Republic Armed Forces (FAN) near the border with Nigeria.

According to security expert Zagazola Makama, Mai Daji was caught in the act of cattle rustling in the Illela area.

His criminal activities, which span nearly a decade, include multiple murders, village burnings, kidnappings, and extortion of villagers.

His capture marks a great milestone in the fight against terrorism in the Lake Chad region.

Makama said:

“Mai Daji was known for terrorising the people around the North East of Illela including Tozai, Sabon Garin Darna, Darna Tsolawo, Tudun Gudali, Basanta, Ɗan Kadu, Takalmawa, Gidan Hamma, Ambarura, Gidan Bulutu and many other surrounding villages.”
