Commenting on the incident via Instagram, blogger Stella Dimoko-Korkus alleged that the arrest is linked to the ongoing legal battle over the death of IVD’s wife, Bimbo Ogbonna.
She stated: “Domestic violence case against him regarding his late wife is still in court. IVD is not supposed to leave Nigeria until the case is over.”
Bimbo Ogbonna died in October 2022 following a fire outbreak reportedly connected to domestic violence in their home.
The Lagos State Government had earlier charged IVD with involuntary manslaughter in case file LD/21055C/23. The trial is still ongoing.
