Fast-rising street pop artist Ayo Maff has described his collaboration with Afrobeats sensation Fireboy DML as a turning point in his musical journey.
Speaking during an interview on HipTV Trending, Ayo Maff revealed that Fireboy’s contribution to the remix of his hit track Dealer played a major role in pushing him into the mainstream spotlight.
“Without Fireboy, there will be no Ayo Maff because he gave me that thing I want. So thank God and thank you to Fireboy,” he said.

The Dealer remix went on to become a massive commercial hit and was crowned Spotify Nigeria’s biggest song of 2024. According to Maff, the collaboration was completely unexpected, as he never imagined Fireboy would jump on the track.
The success of the remix significantly boosted Ayo Maff’s visibility and earned him a nomination in the Next Rated category at the recently concluded Headies Awards.
Known for music that reflects the harsh realities of street life, Ayo Maff often touches on issues such as police brutality, poverty, and the struggle to survive in tough environments.
