The 2022 budget debate set to commence on the floor of the Federal House of Representatives could face a delay owing to faulty conditioners at the lower chamber.
The budget debate is billed for Wednesday, October 13, 2021.
The chamber only hurriedly went through Tuesday’s plenary, as the lawmakers lamented over the heat in the House.

Speaker Femi Gbajabiamila had announced the House will commence the 2022 budget debates on Wednesday through Thursday, for the House to adjourn for budget defence.
However, Gbajabiamila stated that lawmakers could not deliberate on the 2022 budget appropriation bill without the air conditioners working in the house.
He then directed the clerk of the House to ensure that the AC are working before tomorrow.
“Clerk please can you make sure that the AC here is working tomorrow. We have to begin the debate of the budget and we cannot do it under this condition. It is very important and very imperative that it is working tomorrow.”
Gbajabiamila also directed the clerk to write the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of the Federal Capital Territory on the repairs on the building.
Recall that President Muhammadu Buhari had on Thursday last week presented the 2022 appropriation bill before a joint session of the National Assembly.
