Gunmen suspected to be bandits have abducted the Chief Imam of Janjala Central Mosque, Malam Bello Abdullahi, and the Fulani leader of the area, Alhaji Shehu Bello, during a late-night attack on communities in Kagarko Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
The abduction reportedly occurred on Tuesday night at about 9pm, when armed men stormed several communities in a coordinated operation that left residents terrified.

A community leader, who spoke on condition of anonymity for security reasons, confirmed the incident and said the attackers also abducted a woman during the raid.
“The attack happened around 9pm. They came in groups and moved through different communities. The Chief Imam, the Fulani leader, and a woman were taken,” the source said.
Residents said gunshots were heard as the attackers moved freely, forcing many villagers to flee their homes and hide in nearby bushes.
As of the time of filing this report, security agencies are yet to issue an official statement, while efforts are ongoing within the community to gather more information about the victims’ whereabouts.
The incident adds to the growing list of bandit attacks in Kagarko LGA, raising fresh concerns over the worsening security situation in parts of Kaduna State.
