Community leader appeals to Tinubu, Ribadu for urgent intervention.
Bandits have abducted four nursing mothers and rustled over 50 cows in Yan Kwada village, Faruruwa Community, Shanono Local Government Area of Kano State.
The chairman of the community, Alhaji Yahya Bagobiri, expressed deep concern over the incessant bandit attacks despite the deployment of heavy military and other security operatives to the area.

He said the latest attack occurred on Sunday night when gunmen riding on motorcycles stormed the village, raided homes, and kidnapped five nursing mothers before escaping with the livestock.

According to Bagobiri, “Even yesterday, we got reports that the bandits were approaching and alerted the security agents, but nothing was done. They came around 9 p.m., raided houses, and took away the nursing mothers.”
He disclosed that one of the abducted women later managed to escape, leaving four still in captivity, while the attackers abandoned the babies of the kidnapped women, leaving the infants crying helplessly.
The community leader lamented that despite the presence of military personnel for over three weeks, the attacks have persisted almost daily, forcing hundreds of residents to flee their homes for safety.
Bagobiri appealed to President Bola Tinubu, the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, and top security agencies to intensify efforts to end the continued assaults on communities in Kano.
“We appreciate the government’s initial response by deploying military personnel, but we urge that more armed officers be stationed in the area to strengthen security and restore peace,” he stated.
It was recalled that two weeks ago, the military engaged bandits in a fierce gun battle, killing 19 of them while losing two soldiers and one vigilante during the encounter.
