A community leader, Professor Muhammed Dauda from Kuraku village, described the situation as unbearable, explaining that insecurity has intensified despite military presence. He said people in affected communities no longer sleep at home and that some have relocated entirely out of fear.

“We thought with soldiers, civil defence, and JTF here, the attacks would stop. Instead, it feels like the bandits are getting bolder,” he said.

Dauda revealed that within three days, attacks were recorded in Unguwar Tsamiya, Yaudari, and Yan Ganau, leading to deaths and kidnappings, including women. He warned that if nothing is done urgently, the bandits will push deeper into Kano.

He called on President Bola Tinubu, service chiefs, and the Kano State Governor to secure the border communities sharing boundaries with Katsina State.

Earlier, the Kano Police Command announced the arrest of two suspects connected to multiple attacks in Shanono. This followed a report by the Shanono Community Security Committee, where Chairman Yahaya Umar Bagobir disclosed that the bandits previously killed seven residents, rustled about 70 cows, kidnapped 10 people, and collected more than ₦15 million in ransom from Fulani settlements.

The situation was brought before the Kano State House of Assembly, where lawmakers representing the affected areas urged security agencies to intensify operations before more lives are lost.
