Farmers in Katsina State have been reportedly attacked by bandits armed with sophisticated weapons, including AK-47 rifles.
The attack resulted in the death of four people and the abduction of eight others.
The attack took place in the Nahuta and Dantsuntu Communities of the Batsari Local Government Area of the state.

According to an eyewitness, the bandits surrounded the area on Saturday evening when the farmers were busy working on their farmlands.
They shot sporadically until the early hours of Sunday.
The Katsina Police Command confirmed the incident on Monday, saying that police are already on top of the situation.
The police added that five persons have so far been rescued unhurt out of the eight that were earlier kidnapped.
