Three persons have been reportedly killed as bandits attacked a mosque while worshippers were breaking their fast on Tuesday, April 5.
According to newsmen, the gunmen, who numbered around 50, killed three people inside the mosque and kidnapped numerous villagers, who were transferred to an unknown place.
The incident occurred in Baba Juli village, Bali Local Government Area, Taraba State, reports stated.
“Yesterday’s attack caught us unawares. We were breaking our fast inside the mosque when we started hearing gunshots and there was nothing we could do to counter the terrorists,” a villager said.
DSP Usman Abdullahi, a spokesman for the Taraba State Police Command, confirmed the incident and announced that he awaits more information from the police divisional office in Bali.
