Bandits Demand N110m Ransom For Kidnapped Students in Niger | Daily Report Nigeria

Bandits behind the kidnap of students of the Salihu Tanko Islamiyya School in Tegina, Rafi Local Government of Niger State, have demanded N110m ransom for their release.

This was disclosed on Tuesday by the school’s headmaster, Alhaji Abubakar Alhassan.

Alhassan revealed that the bandits made contact with the school to demand for the ransom.

According to the Headmaster, the kidnappers claimed to be in possession of 156 children. He explained the bandits had threatened to kill their victims if the ransom is not paid.

Alhassan lamented the State Government has insisted that it would not pay the ransom but would engage in negotiation with the bandits.

Parents of the abducted children and the community have since started soliciting funds for release of their children, Daily Report Nigeria gathered.

Meanwhile, Deputy Governor of Niger state Ahmed Ketso, has stated the government would not pay ransom for the release of the children, with the believe that negotiations would work like it did during Kagara boys abduction.
