Bandits Hijack Benue Links Bus, Kill One, Injure Others

Bandits suspected to be Fulani herdsmen on Saturday attacked a Benue Links bus, leaving at least one person dead.

Daily Report Nigeria reports that the incident occured along the Naka Road in Gwer West Local Government Area at Tyolaha village.

The bus was reportedly conveying passengers to Otukpo before the attack.

The incident also left several others injured following the attack by suspected Fulani Herdsmen.

The incident was confirmed by the Benue Police Public Relations Officer, Anekwe Catherine.

Anekwe said, “a bus belonging to Benue Links which was heading to Otukpo was attacked by unknown gunmen and three persons including women were wounded and one person died this morning.”

The attack is coming just about a month after gunmen hijacked two Benue Links buses in Okene, Kogi State and abducted over ten passengers.
