BREAKING: Bandits Kidnap APC Assembly Candidate, Council Vice Chair in Kaduna

The All Progressives Congress’ House of Assembly Candidate for Kajuru Constituency, simply identified as Mr Madaki has been abducted by bandits in Kaduna.

Also abducted alongside Madaki is the APC Vice Chairman in Kajuru Local Government Area, Ruben Waziri.

The duo were kidnapped during an attack along the Kaduna-Kachia highway in Kaduna State.

Daily Report gathered that the victims were among other APC chieftains on their way back from Kafanchan following a political meeting with Christian leaders in Southern Senatorial District, on Thursday, when they were attacked.

According to a victim who escaped the attack unhurt, about five vehicles were affected as the bandits opened fire sporadically.

Describing the attack as barbaric, the escapee said some persons also sustained gunshot injuries.

While the Kaduna State APC governorship candidate, Senator Uba Sani, was not part of the victims as he had travelled to Abuja from Kafanchan, his Campaign DG, Sani Maina, Ahmed Maiyaki and a few others escaped unhurt.

A relative of the kidnapped APC Vice Chairman, Ben Maigari, who confirmed the incident, said the bandits were yet to establish.

“They were attacked; the bandits blocked the road and opened fire on the entourage and other moving vehicles. My brother, Ruben, was abducted alongside Madaki because they were in the same vehicle,” he said.

Daily Trust also reported that two other commercial buses were attacked by the bandits with two persons eared killed, while others were taken into the forest.
