Suspected bandits have abducted three members of a family and 13 other residents in separate attacks in Kaduna State, deepening security concerns across the state.
In Kyauta community, Millennium City, Chikun Local Government Area, gunmen reportedly stormed the area around midnight on Monday, firing sporadically before whisking away five persons.

Three of the victims — two boys and their aunt — remain in captivity.
The secretary of the local Joint Task Force (JTF), Abuammar Abdullahi, said residents and JTF members mobilised swiftly and trailed the attackers into a nearby bush, leading to the arrest of one suspect.
An elderly victim later identified the suspect, who was subsequently handed over to security operatives.
In a related incident, 13 persons were abducted in Kallah community, Kajuru Local Government Area. The chairman of the Kajuru Internally Displaced Persons camp, Alipiri Adoh, confirmed that the victims were taken to an unknown destination.
The renewed attacks have heightened fears among residents, who are calling for stronger security presence and proactive measures to curb persistent banditry.
Efforts to reach the Kaduna State Police Command for comment were unsuccessful as of press time.
