  • Tragedy has struck a community in Zamfara state as armed bandits attack a convoy of escort.

  • Daily Report Nigeria gathers that a group of uniform men who were escorting workers of a construction site were attacked and killed.

A total of five policemen and three soldiers were killed in the attack that happened when they were escorting workers of the Setraco Nigeria Limited.

 

According to reports from military sources, the swift response by military officers prevented further casualties between the construction workers, the remaining security personnel and the bandits

The troops escorting Setraco workers on their way to Tsafe LGA in Zamfara encountered an ambush.

“Unfortunately, we lost three soldiers and five policemen, and their rifles were taken by the terrorists,” the military source said.

“Police have evacuated the bodies of both the personnel and the bandits,” the source added.

The source added that many bandits were killed during a gun battle that followed the ambush
