Abba, who studied Plant Science and Biotechnology, was said to have been taken by armed men along the route, leaving his family in distress as they searched for ways to secure his freedom.

Shortly after the abduction, the kidnappers contacted his family and demanded N10 million ransom for his release.

As the family struggled to gather the money, the abductors reportedly released a disturbing video showing the NYSC member being tortured, while threatening to kill him if their demand was not met.

In the video, Abba appeared to be in severe pain as he pleaded desperately for help.

“Please help me, for God’s sake, please help my life. I may soon die in this situation,” he cried while struggling to speak.

He also made emotional religious appeals, hoping to soften the hearts of his captors.

“For the sake of Allah, please help me. For the sake of Prophet Muhammad, please help me,” he repeatedly begged.

Moved by the situation, family members, relatives, and other well-meaning Nigerians reportedly contributed funds to help raise the N10 million ransom demanded by the kidnappers.

However, despite the payment, the family later revealed that the kidnappers completely stopped communicating after receiving the money.

According to family sources, the abductors later made additional demands, asking for items including motorcycles after the ransom had already been paid.

But the family said it refused to meet any further requests, especially after communication with the kidnappers suddenly ceased.

“Since receiving the N10 million ransom payment, Abba’s abductors have completely cut off all communication with the family,” a source said.

With no further information about his whereabouts, the family now fears the worst.

According to relatives, arrangements have already been made to observe funeral prayers in absentia, in line with Islamic rites, as they mourn the tragic loss of the young graduate.

The killing has sparked fresh outrage and renewed concerns about the growing wave of bandit attacks and kidnappings in northern Nigeria, where victims are often abducted for ransom.
