A group of bandits suspected to be Fulani herdsmen has killed a man in the presence of his wife and children.
The victim identified as Godwin Anuka was kidnapped alongside his wife and children on Wednesday from their farmland in Ubulu-Uku, Delta State.
This ugly incident was disclosed by the Senior Special Assistant on Civil Society and Youth Mobilisation to the Delta State governor, Harrison Gwamnishu, on his Facebook post.

Mr. Gwamnishu stated that the kidnappers who had earlier abducted two individuals from the area were hiding in the bush when they sighted Godwin Anuka and his family who were working on their farm.
The kidnappers abducted them and demanded a huge ransom before their release. Mr. Gwamnishu stated that efforts were made towards securing the release of the kidnapped as the ransom was raised. Yet, the kidnappers killed the man but released the earlier abducted individuals.
“Yesterday, after a huge ransom was paid, the kidnappers released Chibueze, Mr. Afam, late Godwin’s wife, and two children, and we were told that Mr. Godwin was shot and killed right inside the farm in the presence of his wife and children.”
This ugly incident has elicited numerous from the community as many letters have been addressed to the Delta State Police Command urging intervention and increased security to nab the criminals and prevent further occurrences.
