Bandits attacked Batagari village in the Maikujeri District of Rafi LGA in Niger State.
The bandits who reportedly invaded the village in motorcycles, shooting sporadically into the air killed one person and abducted 15 villagers (mostly women), while moving from house to house to steal valuables from village residents.
“After they caused fear and people ran away, they went into people’s houses and started taking whatever they wanted,” a source said.

“They took away some women they found around and their families have yet to know their whereabouts, neither have they been contacted by the bandits,” he added.
