Suspected bandits on Wednesday night unleashed a deadly assault on Zagami community in Yankara Ward, Faskari Local Government Area of Katsina State, killing multiple residents and abducting scores, including women and children.
Security analyst Bakatsine disclosed in a post on X (formerly Twitter) that the gunmen stormed the village around 8pm, firing indiscriminately as terrified residents fled into surrounding bushes.

Tragically, a three-day-old baby was among those killed in the attack, while the newborn’s mother was taken away by the assailants.
Although the exact number of casualties and abductees remains unconfirmed, locals said the scale of the assault marks it as one of the most brutal incidents in recent weeks.
