  • A gang of bandits have struck again, as they kidnap the Zamfara State Coordinator of the Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission.

  • Daily Report Nigeria gathers that the bandits were said to have killed two people during the attack.

A group of armed bandits have attacked travellers along the Funtua-Gusau Road on Sunday, October 20, causing mayhem in the process.

The bandits were said to have abducted the Zamfara State Coordinator of the Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC), Alhaji Bashir Abara Gummi alongside several others in the attack.

Speaking to Daily Trust, a source explained that bandits had blocked the busy Funtua-Gusau Road, attacking many vehicles, one of which was that of Alhaji Gummi, who was on his way to Abuja for an official assignment when the incident happened.

Confirming the incident, a security source said the bandits fired at some moving vehicles, killing two persons on the spot, before proceeding to kidnap the coordinator and scores of other travellers.

The bandits blocked the road and unfortunately, some vehicles fell victim to the kidnappers. They opened fire at the vehicles and abducted several travellers,”

It was gathered that the Zamfara State’s Auditor General, Alhaji Abubakar Dan Maliki, narrowly escaped the bandits, as he was able to manoeuvre his way out of the scene where the kidnapping took place.
