At least two persons were killed and six others injured when bandits attacked Unguwar Na Ma’u community in Kakumi Ward of Bakori Local Government Area of Katsina State.
The attackers also rustled a significant number of cattle and other livestock during the assault.

Security analyst Bakatsine disclosed the incident on Friday via X, noting that the attack occurred despite a peace agreement reportedly reached between local authorities and armed groups weeks earlier.

He questioned the credibility and effectiveness of the peace deal, expressing concern over the safety of residents if such violence could still occur after an agreement.
As of the time of filing this report, neither the Nigeria Police Force Katsina State Command nor the state government had issued an official statement on the incident.
The attack adds to growing security concerns in parts of Katsina, where banditry and cattle rustling have persisted despite peace efforts and security interventions.
