Bandits Kill Zamfara Governorship Aspirant, Sagir Hamida

Gunmen suspected to be bandits, have shot dead Sagir Hamida, a governorship aspirant in Zamfara State.

Hamida, a member of the ruling All Progressive Congress, was shot dead late on Sunday, at Rijana, along Kaduna-Abuja highway.

His demise was announced by Imran Ahmad-Rufai, a political associate to the deceased.

A retired director at Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA), Hamida held the traditional title of ‘Sarkin Rafin Gusau.’

He previously contested the Zamfara governorship seat under People Democratic Party (PDP) in 2015 and under the APC in 2019.

According to Ahmad-Rufai, the remains of Sagir Hamida has been deposited at his Abuja residence in Abuja.
