Gunmen believed to be bandits reportedly invaded Oyo National Park on Wednesday, sparking panic and leaving an unspecified number of personnel dead.
Although the exact number of casualties remains unclear as of press time, security sources confirmed that there were losses during the attack.

Confirming the incident, the Public Relations Officer of the Oyo State Police Command, SP Olayinka Ayanlade, told journalists that the police and other security agencies had been alerted and were already responding.
“Yes, there was an attack by yet-to-be-identified men on personnel attached to the national park,” Ayanlade said.
He disclosed that the Commissioner of Police in Oyo State, CP Femi Haruna, alongside other service chiefs, was on his way to the scene to assess the situation firsthand.

According to him, tactical police teams, Mobile Police Force operatives, and Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) units have been deployed to the area to prevent further violence and restore law and order.
Security operations are ongoing, while authorities say further details will be released as investigations continue.
