Barcelona forward, Memphis Depay will have his contract negotiations stalled till July.

His contract with the Spanish La Liga giant has already expired and multiple clubs are queueing up for the player’s signature.

Depay’s representatives were in contact with the Barcelona hierarchy on Monday, but there are no advanced discussions to extend the contract yet. His current contract ended on June 23.

The player has admitted that he is keen on remaining in Barcelona beyond this summer despite his injury woes.

“I was the team’s top scorer”, he stated.

“I’ve only been here for a season, but I feel at home in Barcelona. I look forward to going back again. I have finished the course as the club’s top scorer despite all my injuries. Obviously, I expected more.”

The player also shed light on the departure of Leo Messi from the club last summer, describing it as unimaginable.

“I did not imagine that Messi would leave, his departure affected us a lot,” he concluded.
