France international N’Golo Kante could be heading back to Europe to join Barcelona. The Catalan club, under new boss Hansi Flick, is looking to strengthen its squad as it aims for titles on multiple fronts.
Flick replaced Xavi, who was dismissed at the end of the season. Barcelona is targeting Kante, currently playing in Saudi Arabia with Al-Ittihad, as a potential replacement for Sergio Busquets, who has not met expectations.
The club has also considered other options like Bayern Munich’s Joshua Kimmich and Martin Zubimendi of Real Sociedad, but securing these players has been challenging.

With these difficulties, Barcelona is exploring alternatives, and Kante has emerged as a viable candidate.
Despite leaving Chelsea for Al-Ittihad last summer, the 33-year-old’s strong performances for France at Euro 2024 suggest he still has much to offer. He is reportedly open to a return to European football.
