Nigeria’s Bayelsa Queens powered into the WAFU B Women’s Champions League semifinals after crushing ASKO (Togo) 3–0 at Stade du Lycée Scientifique in Yamoussoukro, Ivory Coast, on Wednesday.

The Queens broke the deadlock two minutes into the second half when ASKO defender Oumou Bani put the ball into her own net.

Alaba Olabiyi fired in the second in the 53rd minute, and Shakirat Moshood sealed the victory with a composed strike in the 80th.

With two straight wins, the six-time Nigeria Women’s Football League champions now sit on six points and top Group B.

Bayelsa dominated on both ends. Player of the Match Vera Samuel set the pace, Emem Essien maintained midfield stability, and Bunmi Oladeji directed the defensive.

Coach Whyte Ogbonda praised the team’s sharp second-half response as they chase a return to the CAF Women’s Champions League, three years after finishing third in Morocco.

Next up, the Restoration Girls face Sam Nelly of Benin on Saturday.

A draw could secure first place, but Bayelsa aim to keep winning as they push for the regional crown they last lifted in 2022.
