The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has successfully restored 13 out of 16 transmission towers that were destroyed by vandals in the Ahoada-Yenagoa 132kV transmission line.
Daily Report Nigeria reports that this news was announced on the agency’s X handle and confirmed by Emmanuel Akpa, the General Manager of TCN’s Port Harcourt Region.
According to Akpa, vandals’ destruction of the towers caused a great disruption to Bayelsa State’s electricity supply and resulted in substantial financial losses for TCN.
He described the extent of the damage as unprecedented in his 33 years of service, adding that the rate of vandalism in the area is alarming.
