Nigerian champions, Bayelsa United have secured a place in the CAF Women’s Champions League.

This followed a 3-0 win over Ampem Darkoa Ladies during the WAFU B playoff final on Saturday.

Both teams had played out a goalless draw in their group tie earlier in the tournament.

The Nigerian side needed just the first 45 minutes to score all three goals in Yammousoukro.

Miracle Joseph opened scoring for the Nigerian Ladies in the 11th minute, before Falconets forward Flourish Sabastine doubled the score line on 19 minute.

Chinyere Igbomalu then sealed the win with a third strike three minutes before the break.

Another Nigerian side, Rivers Angels participated in the maiden edition of the CAF Women’s Champions League in 2021, but crashed out in the group stage.

The competition was won by South Africa’s Mamelodi Sundowns.
