The youths of Bayelsa are calling on President Bola Tinubu to support Prince Ebitimi Amgbare, the Managing Director and CEO of the Niger Delta Basin Development Authority (NDBDA), in his efforts to revitalize the Peremabiri rice farm.

According to them, the Peremabiri rice farm has the potential to massively increase local rice production, contributing to food security in Nigeria and across Africa.

The Peremabiri rice farm, with its vast agricultural potential, has long been a symbol of hope for the region’s economic prosperity and self-sufficiency.

However, they lamented that due to years of neglect and underfunding, the farm has not been able to operate at its full capacity.

Revitalizing the Peremabiri rice farm, the youth group stressed, aligns with the government’s efforts to diversify the economy and promote sustainable agricultural practices.

Transforming it could lead to the creation of thousands of jobs, reduce dependency on imported rice, and provide affordable, high-quality rice to millions of people, they added.
