Bayern Munich agree £80m Deal For Matthijs De Ligt

Bayern Munich have reached a verbal agreement with Juventus for the transfer of Matthijs De Ligt for a fee that could reach £80m.

The deal was struck after days of negotiation between the clubs and De Ligt,

De Ligt who has agreed on personal terms is preparing to sign a contract that will keep him till 2027. In

Transfer specialist, Fabrizio Romano, confirmed the news on Twitter, ‘Matthijs de Ligt to FC Bayern, here we go! , he tweeted.

“Verbal agreement has been reached tonight as clubs have been in contact all day – final bid accepted by Juventus for a package worth more than €80m.”he added.

‘De Ligt has already agreed on personal terms and will sign until June 2027.” he concluded.

The center-back signed for the Italian giants in 2019 after starring in Ajax’s run to the Champions League semi-finals.

He was initially behind Giorgio Chiellini and Leonardo Bonucci in the pecking order in Turin but soon established himself in the starting XI.

De Ligt will leave Juventus having spent three seasons with the Bianconeri, making 177 appearances and scoring eight goals.

He won the Serie A title in 2019/20 but has been part of a Juventus squad that has declined and fallen behind the likes of AC Milan and Inter in recent years.
