Movement focuses on local communities rather than major cities where elites dominate.
Benedict Etanabene, representative for Uvwie, Okpe, and Sapele Constituency, has officially launched the Local People Movement (LPM) to drive development at the grassroots level across Nigeria.
In a statement posted on Facebook on Saturday, Etanabene stressed that the movement seeks to promote progress in local communities, rather than focusing only on major urban centers where the country’s wealthy elite are concentrated.

The movement carries the motto: “A Better Nigeria for All.”
Etanabene invited Nigerians interested in supporting the initiative to register their interest via the platform or by contacting him directly.
He also noted that a dedicated online registration system for members will be rolled out soon.
He clarified that the movement is authentic and not a symbolic “Valentine gimmick,” emphasizing the need for inclusive development that benefits all Nigerians, not just a privileged few.
“This is a movement across Nigeria. This country belongs to all of us, not a handful of rich people living off our collective resources,” Etanabene said.
