Transfer reporter Fabrizio Romano broke the news of the Norwegian’s dismissal.
The 1–0 defeat, which sealed a 2–1 aggregate exit, ended Black and Eagles’ hopes of European football this season and forced the board to act.
The club released a statement:
“Our contract with manager Ole Gunnar Solskjær has been terminated following a decision made at a board meeting. Following the meeting, our chairman, Serdal Adalı, thanked Solskjaer for his services to date.”
The former Manchester United manager took charge in January and guided the team to a fourth-place finish last season.
However, poor early-season results in Europe and inconsistent league form cost him his job.
BJK have already started the search for a new head coach.
Reports link former Borussia Dortmund midfielder Nuri Şahin to the role, though the club has yet to confirm any appointment.
Fans now wait anxiously for the next move, with debate already raging across social media about what this decision means for the rest of the season.
