American singer Billy Joel has called off all his upcoming tour dates following a diagnosis of Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus (NPH).

Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus (NPH) is a condition caused by the buildup of cerebrospinal fluid within the skull, leading to pressure on the brain.

The 76-year-old music legend’s team released a statement on Friday announcing the cancellation, citing worsening symptoms that have impacted his hearing, vision, and balance.

Joel’s team disclosed that his recent shows had worsened his condition, prompting doctors to recommend an immediate halt to performances and a focus on recovery through targeted physical therapy.

“Billy Joel has announced that he will be cancelling all scheduled concerts following a recent diagnosis of Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus (PH),” the statement reads.

“This condition has been exacerbated by recent concert performances, leading to problems with hearing, vision, and balance.

“Under his doctor’s instructions, Billy is undergoing specific physical therapy and has been advised to refrain from performing during this recovery period.

“Billy is thankful for the excellent care he is receiving and is fully committed to prioritizing his health.

“He is grateful for the support from fans during this time and looks forward to the day when he can once again take the stage.

“You don’t need to take any action to receive your refund. It will be automatically processed back to the original payment used for the purchase.

“Please be aware that the refund will go to the original purchaser if the tickets were transferred to you.”

Joel had been scheduled to perform across Europe and America from April 26 to July 3.
