Black People Shouldn't Mourn Queen Elizabeth II - Trevor Sinclair
Former Man City star and football pundit with TalkSport, Trevor Sinclair has called for blacks and browns to not mourn the death of Queen Elizabeth II

Former Manchester City star, Trevor Sinclair is now under investigation by TalkSport after he said that ‘black and brown’ people should not mourn the death of Queen Elizabeth II.

Trevor, in a tweet he posted shortly after the Queen Elizabeth’s death was announced said racism in the United Kingdom had ‘thrived’ during the Queen’s 70-year reign.

Following the tweet, he is now being investigated by the sports radio company, where he works as a football pundit and commentator.

The sports world paused to mourn the Queen who died on Thursday at the age of 96 at Balmoral.

But Sinclair felt the monarch does not deserve a last respect from people of black or brown colours.

He tweeted;

“Racism was outlawed in England in the 60’s & it’s been allowed to thrive so why should black and brown mourn!!”

And shortly after his tweet, Talksport announced that it was attempting to make contact with the former Premier League star to discuss the tweet.

It said:

“talkSport does not support those views expressed and is investigating the matter.”

Sinclair’s comments further received a furious backlash from colleagues.

Former Crystal Palace owner, Simon Jordan, who also works with talkSport said;

“Trev, I’m really not sure that is an appropriate thought, let alone tweet. The country has lost a very significant person and respect and value should be the overriding sentiments not division!”

And former Peterborough United striker, Aaron McLean added: “To say I’m confused as to why you’ve felt the need to tweet this is an understatement.”

Georgie Bingham, another colleague of Sinclair at talkSport, said:

“Bloody hell Trev. What the hell are you thinking?”
