Gunmen suspected to be bandits have killed no less than 78 people in Plateau State.
Daily Report Nigeria reports that the tragic attack took place on Sunday December 24 while the victims were making preparations for Christmas Day celebration.
The deadly attack perpetrated by gunmen suspected to be Fulani Militias took place in several villages of Bokkos and Barkin Ladi local Government areas of Plateau State.
Properties worth millions of Naira were also destroyed as a result of the well coordinated attacks that saw houses set ablaze.

According to an eyewitness identified as Moses Martha, the gunmen invaded different communities in droves and stationed themselves to attack simultaneously.

Confirming the attacks on Monday, the Transition Implementation Committee Chairman of Bokkos Council area, Kassam said over 56 villagers were confirmed dead in Bokkos LGA alone, while his counterpart in Barkin Ladi, Danjuma Dakim, confirmed another 22 dead bodies.
As of press time, no official statement had been made by the Plateau Police Command as many persons have been declared missing.
The incident has also caused locals to abandon the village for safety reasons.
