BNXN Calls on FG to Legalize Cannabis Strain ‘Loud’

BNXN

Afrobeats singer Daniel Benson, known as BNXN, has called on the Nigerian Federal Government to legalize “Loud,” a potent synthetic strain of cannabis that is popular among the youth but remains illegal in the country. Users of Loud currently face the risk of imprisonment due to its prohibited status.

BNXN took to his verified X account to express his support for legalization, writing, “Make dem legalize loud for this side o.”

This plea comes shortly after Lagos State Police Command spokesperson, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, criticized rising singer Ayo Maff for glorifying the use of Canadian Loud in his song “Last Week.” Hundeyin noted that many young people in prison are there due to drug-related offenses, emphasizing that drug use often leads to criminal behavior.
