A member of the Peoples Democratic Party’s Board of Trustees and elder statesman, Bode George, has thrown his weight behind Sunday Ude-Okoye as the authentic National Secretary of the party.
This endorsement comes amid a leadership tussle between Ude-Okoye and Samuel Anyanwu over the position.
According to George, the decision to back Ude-Okoye was based on the judgment of the Court of Appeal, which affirmed him as the authentic National Secretary of the PDP.

George called on Anyanwu to accept the decision and allow peace to reign in the party.
“So, what do you expect us to do? If Anyanwu decides to go to the Supreme Court and the Supreme Court throws out that decision of the Court of Appeal, we will abide by that,” he said.
Despite the crisis rocking the PDP, George emphasized that the party remains more organized internally than the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
