No fewer than 27 people have been killed after suspected Boko Haram and ISWAP terrorists launched a coordinated attack on Shuwari Sholi community in Madagali Local Government Area of Adamawa State.
The attackers reportedly invaded the community in the early hours of Wednesday, opening fire on residents and setting houses ablaze during an assault that lasted several hours.

Among those killed was the village head of Shuwari, Bademi Papka, who was identified as a cousin of Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu Fintiri.

Eyewitnesses said the insurgents arrived on motorcycles and targeted villagers gathered around the market square, shooting indiscriminately and forcing residents to flee toward nearby mountains for safety.
According to local sources, security operatives were alerted during the attack but arrived after the terrorists had retreated.
Former chairman of Madagali Local Government Area, Maina Ularamu, confirmed the incident, noting that casualty figures remain uncertain as residents continue to account for missing persons.
Residents have called on the government and security agencies to intensify efforts to protect communities from persistent terrorist attacks in the area.
