Daily Report Nigeria gathers that the boy had gained access to his father’s hunting gun, and mistakenly ended the life of his sister.

The issue was brought into light on social media platform, X by police officer, Bright Edafe – @Brightgoldenboy, and has since sparked outrage amongst people.
The PPRO explained that the man had carelessly left his gun, and his son, who had been playing with it before that day took it and mistakenly fired at his sister, killing her in the process.
In the video, the officer stated:
“This long-range single-barrel gun belongs to the father of one of the suspects. The father is the suspect because his carelessness is the reason we’re here today.”
“One fateful day, he was playing with the gun, it went off, and killed his own sister — the daughter of the gun’s owner”
Upon questioning, the father noted that he inherited the gun from his father, and has been using it for hunting but doesn’t know his son had been playing with it.
He said, “The gun na my father gun, na hunt I dey use am dey do.”
