Security operatives of the Nigeria Police on Wednesday sealed the PDP National Secretariat at Wadata Plaza, Abuja. The action followed violent clashes between two rival factions of the party.
The confrontation erupted on Tuesday between the faction led by Saminu Turaki and supporters loyal to Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.

During the clash, Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State and Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State were teargassed while trying to navigate the chaos.

The police cordon restricted access to the secretariat, temporarily halting all party operations.
The incident comes amid rising tensions in the PDP following recent expulsions and dissolution of several state executive councils.
Party members loyal to both factions reportedly held parallel meetings in separate sections of the secretariat before the police intervention.
