BREAKING: 27 PDP Lawmakers Decamp to APC in Rivers

No less than 27 members of the Rivers State House of Assembly have decamped to the All Progressives Congress, APC.

DAILY REPORT NIGERIA reports that the lawmakers all decamped from the People’s Democratic Party, the ruling party in the state.

The development has further heightened the crisis in the Rivers State House of Assembly.

The defecting lawmakers cited division within the PDP as reason behind their move to the APC.

The affected lawmakers have been identified as those loyal to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.

The lawmakers held a plenary under heavy security it at about 8am on Monday where the decision was taken inside Assembly complex along Moscow Road in Port Harcourt.
