Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, Governor of Adamawa State, has defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
The governor announced his defection in a statewide broadcast on Friday, explaining that he joined the ruling party alongside members of his cabinet and PDP officials across the state.

According to him, the decision was taken in the developmental interest of Adamawa State, noting that the move would help advance progress and improve opportunities for the people.
