Nigerian singer and music executive, Bankole Wellington, popularly known as Banky W, has again, been declared winner of the Peoples Democratic Party’s ticker for Eti-Osa Federal Constituency.
Banky W was declared PDP winner following a rerun of the House of Representatives primary election on Monday.
The Strong Thing crooner registered a landslide victory, after polling 24 out of a total 29 votes, while his opposition, Sam Aiboni a legal practitioner, scored a mere 5 votes.

A video on the singer’s campaign page on Instagram showed the counting of the votes, with attendees chanting victory songs and before lifting him up in the air.
The development comes barely two weeks after Banky’s first victory result was overturned.
Final result submitted by the party showed that Aiboni won the election, even though Banky was depicted as winner in the vote collation video.
A rerun was fixed for Monday June 6, 2022, following the controversies that surrounded the first election.
Announcing his victory, Banky W’s campaign team said, “While we are grateful for our success at the primaries, we are completely heartbroken at the state of our nation.
