Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State, has picked a former governorship aspirant of the state as his deputy.
Daily Report Nigeria reports that Olayide Adelami, a former Deputy Clerk to the National Assembly, was nominated by Aiyedatiwa.
Adelami’s nomination follows the emergence of Aiyedatiwa as governor, after the demise of Rotimi Akeredolu in December.
Adelami hails from Owo, headquarters of Owo Local Council, hometown of late Akeredolu.

He has since been confirmed by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Ebenezer Adeniyan.

Adelami’s name has subsequently been forwarded to the Ondo State House of Assembly, for an official announcement, Guardian reported.
Adelami was a governorship aspirant in 2020 and once served as Deputy Clerk of the National Assembly until his retirement in April 2018.
