Former governor of Oyo state, Senator Abiola Ajimobi has been appointed as the Acting National Chairman of the All Progressive Party, APC.

Senator Ajimobi was appointed into the role by the National Working Committee of the APC following a court order that upheld the suspension of Adams Oshiomole as National Chairman of the ruling party.

The Appeal Court had on Tuesday upheld the judgement of an Abuja High Court, affirming the suspension of the former Edo state governor.

Senator Ajimobi has previously filled the role of National Deputy Chairman South of the All Progressive Congress.

Ajimobi’s appointment was made public via a statement by the Publicity Secretary of the APC, Lanre Issa-Onilu who stated that the move was totally in line with the party’s constitution.
