A factional headquarters of the All Progressive Congress, APC, in Kano State has been set ablaze.
The APC headquarters situated located along Maiduguri road, in the Kano metropolis, was set on fire by protesters suspected to be from the opposing faction.
The building is said to be less than three kilometers from a mobile police barrack at Hotoro area, Tarauni Local Government Area.

It housed the head office of the APC faction led by Kano State’s former governor, Ibrahim Shekarau, which is opposed by another faction led by the incumbent governor, Abdullahi Ganduje.
The two factions have been at loggerheads over who runs Kano following the conclusion of state and ward congresses by the APC.
While the Shekau-led faction elected Haruna Danzago as State chairman, Ganduje’s camp elected Abdullahi Abbas.
The National Appeal Committee set up by the APC later recognized Mr Abbas as the chairman of the party Kano state.
Not satisfied with the decision of the NAC, Shekarau’s faction headed to court, asking for the nullification of the congresses at the ward, local government, and state levels conducted by the rival faction and recognition of its own.
On Tuesday, the Federal High Court in Abuja granted the requests and upheld the congresses conducted by the Shekarau faction.
The judge also made an order restraining the Ganduje faction from appointing a new executive.
Meanwhile, residents quickly intervened to put out the fire and confronted the arsonists.
Operatives of the Nigerian Police Force later arrived the scene to maintain law and order.
