The Academic Staff Union of Universities on Saturday rejected a N50 million intervention fund from Berekete Family.
Presenter of Berekete Family, Ahmed Isah, popularly known as Ordinary President had started an online campaign to raise funds for the union to call of its lingering strike action.
Daily Report Nigeria recalls that academic activities have been on a standstill since the union members embarked on a strike action in February.

However, appearing on the Berekete Family programme on Saturday, ASUU President, Prof. Emmanuel Osadeke rejected the said fund which was domiciled in a TAJ bank account.
Osadeke, who was visibly dissatisfied by the move to raise money for the union, noted that the body was not begging for money, but a better funding for schools in the country.
“We are not begging FG for money, but for a better funding of our Institutions,” Osadeke said.
Reacting to ASUU’s rejection of the intervention fund, which had N50 million of it donated by Governor Emmanuel Udom of Akwa Ibom State, Isah said;
“I will no longer continue with the intervention fundraising, people who have contributed, should send their account details to us,let’s refund their money.
“All Nigerians who have sent their contributions should send me a message,so that I can forward their names and details to the bank manager.”
Many Nigerians have since labeled ASUU as being insensitive for not buying into the interventional moves by the Berekete Family.
