The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) says it will join the Nigeria Labour Congress’ nationwide strike action as an affiliate members of the congress.
Daily Report Nigeria reports that the NLC had scheduled September 6, 2023 for it’s two-day warning strike action against the federal government.

Reacting to the intended strike action, ASUU President, Osedeke Emmanuel said:
“We are members of NLC, affiliates, therefore if they declare a strike, our members will be part of it.
“The ball is in the government’s hands. Let them solve the problem, and then there won’t be a strike. If NLC decides to go on strike, as an affiliate we don’t have any option but to comply.”
More than 81 universities are under ASUU. They include 43 federal and 38 state-owned universities.
