Atiku Abubakar, the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) presidential candidate, and Peter Obi, his Labour Party (LP) counterpart, met for the first time since the 2023 election.
Atiku confirmed the meeting on social media, stating, “It was my honor and privilege to host @PeterObi today.”
Their meeting has sparked speculation about a potential alliance between the LP and PDP to challenge President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 election.

Also, there are indications that the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) might join the coalition.

Earlier, Professor Pat Utomi, a political economist, had hinted at a possible collaboration between Atiku, Peter Obi, and Rabiu Kwankwaso of the NNPP to form a strong opposition party aimed at unseating the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2027.
